Click here to see a video of a collaborative project by students at Southwest High School, a song called "Give Bread" for Bread For A Hungry World. It includes 8 different singers from five SHS contemporary music bands in a couple of different styles-- composed, performed, and recorded at Southwest H.S. "Submarine" Studio (named for a very narrow former storage space). The charity was so pleased that they donated a chicken farm to a family in Honduras in honor of each student on the recording!

Photos by Chelsea Duncan, Carol Zuber-Mallison, Tammy Smith and John Clinton.

And the big winner: The Anima Construct (shown above). Members Dean Adams, Ben Garnett and Jack Simmons won the $1,000 check, studio recording time, and the big trophy that they get to display at Arlington's Lamar High School. Also, Guitarist Ben Garnett was named Outstanding Musician.

Second place went to Insomniac Nation from Southwest High School: Devin Huges, Elizabeth Reed, Josh Foster, Dominique Mosley, Jarius Foster and Lawrence Lerma.

Third place was won by Setting the Sunrise from Haltom High School: Zach Williams, Brandon Yamane, Ken Nguyen, Ryan Browning, Josh Famigletti and Bradley Williams.

And congratulations to Halle Tomlinson of Aces & Angels who was named Outstanding Vocalist.

Thank you to Rabbits Got The Gun for headlining our event. They were FW Weekly's New Artist of the Year in 2010. Find out all about the group here.
